Kinan Alajak is the Founder of the Refugee Wellbeing & Integration Initiative and its Director since 2020. Alajak has held multiple consecutive assignments at Utrecht University, lastly at the Department of Media and Culture Studies.

His research interest focuses primarily on empirical research in populations often seen as hard-to-reach in the Netherlands. He has co-authored, published in worldwide leading journals and presented on Research Design in Developmental Psychology and in the fields of Migration Governance and Inclusion in Higher Education. Alajak’s multidisciplinary academic and societal engagements received several honours, like being among the three finalists for the Diversity and Inclusion Award 2022.
